Matthew J. Andersen joined the firm in 2000. He became a Shareholder in 2004. Mr. Andersen’s practice emphasizes personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, trucking accident claims, and litigation. He is licensed to practice in both Washington and Oregon.

Personal

Mr. Andersen attended Willamette University as an undergraduate, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in History and Religious Studies while playing varsity football. After graduation, he studied at the Willamette University College of Law. He was member/editor of the Willamette Law Review. He graduated magna cum laude and obtained a Certificate in Dispute Resolution. 

Mr. Andersen began his career as a general civil litigator and insurance defense attorney. During this time he obtained an inside look at the claims handling practices of many large auto insurers in Washington and Oregon. Fifteen years ago Mr. Andersen ceased working with insurance companies and began representing injured people in search of compensation. He puts his experience and familiarity with the insurance industry to work for you.

 Mr. Andersen is an avid hunter and angler (in Alaska as much as possible) and enjoys serving his local community in Woodland, Washington. In the past he has served as a varsity football coach for Woodland High School and as a board member of the Lewis River Life Hope Pregnancy Center. He is a member of the Promise Church in Woodland, Washington.
