Michael A. Claxton joined the firm in 1995 and has been a shareholder since 1999. He concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, probate, guardianships, elder law, and business/corporate matters. He is admitted to the Washington and Oregon State bar associations, as well as to the Western Washington U.S. District Court.

Education
Mr. Claxton received his law degree from Willamette University, graduating cum laude. He also has a Masters of Business Administration from Portland State University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Indiana University.
Personal
Prior to entering the legal profession, he worked as an editor in the trade publication field, serving as managing editor of Metal Construction News and later Printing Impressions magazines, and then as editor of Package Printing & Converting magazine. Mr. Claxton is on the board of directors for the Kelso-Longview Chamber of Commerce and Red Canoe Credit Union. He is a member of the Longview Noon Rotary. He is married to Lucia Claxton, has two adult children, Marcus and Maria, and three grandchildren, Ben, Lukas, and Melodee.
