Nicole M. Tideman


Nicole M. Tideman is from the local area and a graduate of Mark Morris High School.  After spending several years in the Seattle area she moved back to Cowlitz County and joined the firm in 2012.  Her legal career began working for the US Department of Labor Employee Benefit Security Department providing guidance and enforcement on rights, benefits and enforcement of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).    In 2012 Ms. Tideman started as an Associate with Walstead Mertsching PS and in 2017 became a Shareholder.

Ms. Tideman serves her clients in family law matters, harassment, discrimination and other similar legal matters involving employment claims.  She practices in both state and federal courts. Having worked in human resource management for seven years she understands the complex legal issues in employment claims and works diligently to secure favorable outcomes for clients.  Ms. Tideman works in all cases to achieve the best results that will minimize future disputes and meet both short term and long term goals.

Ms. Tideman enjoys serving her community and provides pro bono services each year.  She is the Secretary on the board of the Mark Morris Foundation.  Previously Ms. Tideman served as the Secretary on the executive board for the Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Bar Association and as a member of the Southwest Washington Symphony Board of Directors.  Ms. Tideman also has previous experience working with victims of domestic violence in a confidential women's shelter and transitional housing program. 

Ms. Tideman earned her law degree from Seattle University School of Law. During law school, she represented persons charged with misdemeanor offenses in Seattle Municipal Mental Health Court.  Ms. Tideman also holds a Business Degree with emphasis in Human Resource Management from Washington State University (GO COUGS)
