We are pleased to announce that Joshua Baldwin has joined Walstead Mertsching. Josh was raised in the Pacific Northwest, growing up in the greater Seattle-Tacoma area, before graduation from Decatur High School in Federal Way Washington. He attended both Gonzaga University and Central Washington University for undergraduate studies and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science in 2002. From 2002-2005 he found his way back to Gonzaga University to obtain his Law Degree and graduated with honors before moving to Longview Washington to begin his legal career.
Chelsea Baldwin and Nicole Tideman were both receipients of WSBA commendation certificates for contributing more than 50 hours of time to providing pro bono and public service in 2015 and 2016. Their names will appear in the WSBA Supreme Court Pro Bono Publico Honor Roll in recognition of their efforts.
Brian Brault has joined Walstead Mertsching as an Associate Attorney. Brian attended Gonzaga University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degee in Political Science and a Juris Doctorate in Law. He went on to obtain a Masters of Law in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law. His practice will focus on business/corporate law, estate planning, probate, and taxation. Brian is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the Cowlitz/Wahkiakum Bar Association. He is licensed to practice law in Washington State and the United States Tax Court.
Walstead Mertsching, PS, is pleased to announce that Ryan M. Busby recently joined the firm as an associate attorney. Mr. Busby received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Sonoma State University in 2009. He continued on to Gonzaga University School of Law where he received a Juris Doctor in 2012. Mr. Busby was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 2012 and the Washington State Bar in 2014. Prior to joining us, Ryan worked for an Oregon workers’ compensation defense firm, representing employers in various administrative proceedings. Mr.
After 40 years with Walstead Mertsching, Stephen Wanderer has retired from the practice of law. Mr. Wanderer attended the University of Washington ( B.A., 1967), Gonzaga University School of Law (J.D., 1972), and New York University (LL.M, 1980). Admitted to the Washington State Bar in 1972, Mr. Wanderer’s practice emphasized estate planning, estate and trust administration and business/corporate law. He was one of the few attorneys in Southwest Washington admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court. Steve's knowledge and experience will be missed.
